AERINOS ADS-700

Introduction

ADS-700 is an ultra-low-power NB-IoT/LTE-M RTU and end node for autonomous sensor monitoring. It combines cellular connectivity with SDI-12, RS-485 Modbus and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) sensor interfaces. An ARM M33 microcontroller manages data sampling, logging and communications.

The unit incorporates three digital inputs (one also usable as a pulse counter), one 12-bit analog input, a 3-axis accelerometer with gyroscope, a temperature sensor and a coulomb meter for battery consumption monitoring. An internal 13 Ah lithium-thionyl battery supports autonomous operation for up to 10 years, depending on sensor load, sampling and transmission settings, and network conditions. External operation is available through a 5 V USB supply.

SDI-12 Serial Bus

ADS-700 supports SDI-12 version 1.2 and collects up to 15 measurement channels from multiple sensors. This interface is suitable for environmental monitoring, water management and precision agriculture.

RS-485, Modbus

The RS-485 interface supports data acquisition from Modbus sensors for up to 10 measurement channels. Modbus ASCII is supported.

Bluetooth Low Energy

BLE enables local wireless configuration and telemetry from multiple BLE sensors, allowing wired and wireless measurements to be collected by the same unit.

Data acquisition and alarms

Sampling and transmission intervals are user-configurable, allowing measurements to be recorded at a different rate from data uploads. Adjustable sensor warm-up time powers external sensors before a measurement. Threshold alarms are available for digital and analog channels.

Tilt sensing and battery monitoring

The built-in accelerometer and gyroscope support rotation and tilt measurement and alarming. The internal temperature sensor provides device temperature measurements, while the user-enabled coulomb meter tracks battery consumption.

Transducer excitation

A user-adjustable 5 V / 12 VDC excitation output supplies low-power external sensors, with a maximum current of 200 mA at either voltage.

IoT connectivity and security

ADS-700 supports MQTT and LwM2M/SenML JSON messaging (RFC 8428), with TLS 1.2 and user-defined certificates for secure communications. The cellular modem supports LTE Cat-M1 / NB-IoT, with 2G fallback and GPS/GNSS capabilities depending on the modem variant. Network availability and supported services depend on the deployment region and operator.

Setup and remote management

Configure the unit locally through USB serial or BLE using ASCII commands for scaling, timing and operating parameters. Remote configuration and control are also supported. Low-power operation activates the modem and sensor subsystems as required for acquisition and data transfer.

Compatible camera

The optional Mati-100 battery-powered 5-megapixel IoT camera connects to ADS-7/3xx devices through I²C. It provides JPEG images at up to 2592 × 1944 pixels, transferred via MQTT, for visual inspection and image analysis applications.
