AERINOS ADS-300 Nautilus

Introduction

Built for Water. Engineered for Intelligence.

AERINOS ADS-300 Nautilus is an IP68-rated, fully submersible, ultra-low-power NB-IoT / LTE-M telemetry RTU designed for water level, water quality and remote sensor monitoring. Its marine-grade construction and stainless steel 316 connectors support demanding water and marine installations, including locations without mains power.

The unit combines an integrated cellular modem, USB serial interface, one digital input/counter, one 12-bit analog input, an optional three-axis accelerometer and a Coulomb meter for battery consumption monitoring. It acquires measurements from SDI-12 and RS-485 Modbus sensors and provides selectable excitation for powering compatible external sensors.

Fully submerged, marine-grade construction

The rugged IP68 enclosure is designed for fully submerged operation, with stainless steel 316 connectors for corrosion resistance in demanding marine environments. ADS-300 Nautilus was tested for five months fully submerged in 1 metre of water, transmitting every 15 minutes.

SDI-12 Serial Bus

ADS-300 Nautilus complies with SDI-12 version 1.3 and collects up to 15 measurement channels from multiple compatible sensors, bringing water level and water quality measurements into your telemetry system.

RS-485, Modbus

The RS-485 interface supports acquisition from Modbus sensors, with up to 10 measurement channels using Modbus ASCII.

Transducer excitation

A user-adjustable excitation output provides 5 VDC / 200 mA or 12 VDC / 200 mA maximum to power compatible low-power external sensors. Configurable sensor warm-up time activates sensors before measurement.

Autonomous battery operation

An ultra-low-power microcontroller manages sampling, logging and communications, activating the modem and measurement subsystems only when required. An internal lithium thionyl chloride battery supports operation for up to 10 years, depending on sensor power requirements, sampling and transmission intervals, network conditions and the deployment environment. A user-enabled Coulomb meter monitors battery consumption.

Tilt sensing

An optional three-axis digital accelerometer measures angle declination for applications requiring tilt monitoring.

IoT connectivity and security

NB-IoT / LTE-M cellular connectivity transmits MQTT messages to your configured cloud platform. TLS 1.2 with user-defined certificates supports secure communication from field to cloud.

Setup and remote management

Configure scaling, sampling, timing and operating parameters locally through USB serial using the ASCII command set and Windows utility. Remote configuration and operation are also supported. Sampling and transmission intervals are independently configurable to suit the monitoring application.

Applications

  • Water level monitoring
  • Water quality monitoring
  • Fully submerged and marine monitoring installations
  • Remote water resources telemetry
  • Oil and gas distribution monitoring with compatible sensors
